What better way to experience the beauty of Snowdonia National Park than to ride on a great little steam train aptly named the 'Snowdonian' and travel nonstop over 80-miles of 2ft narrow gauge track through North Wales' finest countryside?

When the 'Snowdonian' next departs from Porthmadog in April 2014 it will be one of the first passenger trains to leave the newly built platform at Harbour Station!

It will be the fourth time that this special steam engine has journeyed over the full length of the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways in one day. Ffestiniog Travel is delighted to again offer this event as an unescorted mini-break and as with previous years, all profits will again go towards the preservation of the Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog Railways, so as you sit back and enjoy the ride you can take additional pleasure in knowing you are contributing to the continued future of steam engines in Snowdonia.

This mini-break includes your seat on the private 'Snowdonian' train and onboard refreshments as it travels from Porthmadog to Caernarfon and on to Blaenau Ffestiniog before returning to Porthmadog. Also included is a tour of the world’s oldest railway works at Boston Lodge and a Spooner's supper. The price from £370pp includes 2-nights accommodation in a choice of hotels in Porthmadog. We can arrange return rail travel from your home station to Porthmadog for those who prefer not to drive.
