Terms and Conditions

In these conditions 'the Company' means Ffestiniog Railway Holdings Ltd., trading as Ffestiniog Travel; 'the traveller' includes any person or child travelling with or in the care of the traveller or for whom he makes any booking arrangements with the Company.

General Conditions

1. Quotations for bookings will be issued by the Company in writing, where a quotation has been offered verbally the Company shall not be responsible for any inaccuracies.

2. Prices quoted are valid only up to and including the date and time specified in the quotation. Where no date and time is issued the quotation is subject to availability at the time of purchase.

3. No tickets or other documents or vouchers will be released by the Company unless and until the full balance of the cost, as confirmed, shall have been paid to the Company.

4. The contract and any claims arising shall be governed by English and Welsh law and all proceedings shall be within the exclusive domain of the English and Welsh courts.

5. Where international transportation services by land, sea or air are governed by international conventions, the obligations and liabilities of the Company and its suppliers are limited in the manner provided by such conventions.

6. Any advice or information that the Company provides is limited to information received from outside organisations. The company cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracies or alterations.

7. In the event of any disruptions or alterations to your scheduled services the Company will to the best of its ability inform the affected travellers, however the Company cannot be held responsible if the information provided is inaccurate or if the Company is unable to convey this information to the traveller.

8. The Company acts as an agent for train operating companies, airlines, ferry companies and car hire firms but does not run the services. It is not liable or responsible for operating companies' failure to provide the services they publish or advertise whether within the UK or abroad.

9. Where tickets, documents or vouchers are posted the Company cannot be held responsible for loss or delay by the postal services. Any charges for priority or insured services will be paid by the traveller. Arrangements or charges for re-delivery or collection will be paid by the traveller.

10. The purchase of tickets, documents or vouchers indicates the acceptance of these conditions.

UK Rail Tickets

11. All UK rail journeys are undertaken by the traveller subject to the National Rail Conditions of Carriage.

12. The Company reserves the right to levy a cover charge on each ticket or transaction.

13. Discounted tickets are available for holders of Senior, 16-25, Family & Friends HM forces, Network and Disabled Persons Railcard holders in addition to Children under the age of 16. Travellers entitled to discount must advise the Company of their entitlement prior to booking.

14. Advance tickets are Single (one-way) tickets for selected journeys available in First Class and Standard Class. Advance tickets must be purchased in advance of travel, subject to availability, and are only valid on the date and time stated on the ticket.

15. Off-Peak tickets are single and return tickets available in First Class and Standard Class. Off-Peak tickets can be purchased at anytime but may require the traveller to travel at specific times of the day, days of the week or on a specific route.

16. Anytime tickets are single and return tickets available in First Class and Standard Class. Anytime tickets can be purchased at anytime with no restrictions on when the traveller can travel.

17. Refunds are available on Anytime and Off Peak tickets subject to an administration charge per ticket as specified by ATOC. Advance tickets are non-refundable. All applications for refund are processed by ATOC and refunds will be passed to the traveller when received by the Company.

18. All international journeys are undertaken subject to the CIV regulations.

European and Worldwide Tickets

19. All European tickets are issued subject to the relevant national and international carriers conditions of carriage. All international journeys are undertaken subject to the CIV regulations.

20. The Company reserves the right to levy a cover charge on each ticket or transaction.

21. Discounted tickets are available on some services for travellers with varying circumstances, age limits for children vary by country. Travellers entitled to discount must advise the Company of their entitlement prior to booking.

22. It is the travellers responsibility to check tickets or other documents or vouchers upon receipt and to check their accuracy and completeness. Any discrepancies MUST be notified at the time for bookings made in person and within 24 hours of receipt for bookings made otherwise. The Company will assume that you have accepted the tickets or other documents or vouchers as correctly issued unless any errors are brought to the Company's attention within that timescale. The travellers failure to comply with this time limit means the traveller loses the right to correct such discrepancies (whilst the Company will make reasonable efforts to do so).

23. Amendments cannot be made to non-exchangeable/non-refundable tickets or other documents or vouchers.

24. The traveller is responsible for the safekeeping of the traveller's tickets or other documents or vouchers. The Company cannot replace lost, stolen or mislaid tickets or other documents or vouchers, nor refund their cost.

25. The Company, the Carriers and other service providers will not be liable to the traveller if the traveller cannot travel because the traveller does not have the correct documents including passport and visas where necessary. It is the travellers responsibility to check whether the traveller requires a visa to travel to, or through, a particular country or countries and to make full arrangements for this prior to purchase of the travellers tickets or other documents or vouchers.

26. The traveller must retain all tickets or other documents or vouchers for the duration of the journey (including outbound tickets or other documents or vouchers until the end of the return journey) and produce these as requested. In case of after-sales query or complaint, all tickets or other documents or vouchers related to the whole booking will be required to be disclosed.

27. The Company acts as an agent for the Carriers or other service providers, the Company is not liable to the traveller for claims arising from the travellers actual travel. The Company will forward any notices or claims received from you to the appropriate authority, Carrier or other service provider for action.

28. All claims in any event must be made in writing to the Company within 28 days of date of travel and must enclose all tickets or other documents or vouchers related to the whole booking. Where a claim is being made in respect of an incident or travel amendment, a suitable confirmation of the incident and/or endorsement of the appropriate tickets or other documents or vouchers must be obtained from a member of staff of the Carrier or service provider present when the incident took place.

29. Not all tickets or other documents or vouchers permit refunds. The traveller will be notified of the applicable relevant Carrier's conditions or Fare Conditions of your Ticket when the traveller makes the purchase.

30. Refunds cannot be made where tickets or other documents or vouchers has been partially used. In the event of non-provision of part of a service, an appropriate endorsement must be obtained.

31. Where a refund is permitted, to qualify all tickets or other documents or vouchers on that booking (both outbound and return) must be returned to the original point of sale within 28 days of the travel date.

32. Where a refund is permitted, some tickets or other documents or vouchers can only be refunded before the date of travel.

33. Any permitted refunds will be made by cheque or to an appropriate bank debit card or by bank transfer.

34. These conditions are in no way exhaustive and may be supplemented by other agents, carriers or countries terms, conditions, regulations or laws.
